Building Relationships: Effective Team Interpreting in Higher Education

In this workshop, we explore the many professional relationships that intersect while interpreting in higher education, whether it be with the client, the interpreting team, or the professor. We will discuss team interpreting strategies, interpreter feedback, and inclusion of the student/client throughout the duration of the class. Interpreters will participate in role play and small group activities to learn how to advocate for what they need in the class, as well as best practices for interacting with all individuals in the classroom. Participants will leave feeling empowered to advocate for themselves within their teaming environment, which will result in more continuity in the interpreted message and increased success for the client/student in and out of the classroom. All students and professionals are welcome. 0.3 PS CEUs.

AG Interpreting has added the Livestream option, which requires internet access and an active facebook account. To inquire, email info@aginterpreting.com
